Bombs album artwork
Idlechord are a small but up and coming indie rock band in South Wales. They got in contact with me about doing some artwork for the release of their latest single at the time, ‘Bombs (The Creature)’. They wanted it so it could be used as the album art on streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music as well as something that could later be used as the artwork featured on a physical album and EP.
After the band sent over the lyrics of the single, I studied them to get a better understanding of what the song was about. What was nice is that it was open to interpretation so the take on the artwork was my own, so audiences can view and interoperate how they want.
What I got from the song was that it was about a relationship with a girl that turned bad and starts blowing up the relationship, hence the title BOMBS. (The Creature) is a sub title of the song which they wanted as it is a significant lyric within the song.
This song is more of an upbeat with a punky feel, which is why I went for the brighter colours and bold design.
Because this is one of that bands favoured songs they also wanted a small teaser video to go with it to help build up publicity before its release, which can be seen further down the page.
