Battle Album Artwork
Idlechord are a small but up and coming indie rock band in South Wales. They got in contact with me about doing some artwork for the release of their latest single at the time, ‘Battle’. They wanted it so it could be used as the album art on streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music as well as something that could later be used as the artwork featured on a physical album and EP.
After the band sent over the lyrics of the single, I studied them to get a better understanding of what the song was about. What was nice is that it was open to interpretation so the take on the artwork was my own, so audiences can view and interoperate how they want.
What I got from the song was that it was about a dark and hazy past relationship, hence the grungy and cloudy effects covering and interacting with the centrepiece model.
